FAQ
Q1: What is the warranty period for Kalamera products?
All Kalamera products come with a 1-year warranty from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing defects.
Q2: Do I need to register my warranty separately?
No, registration is not required. Your order (from Amazon or kalamera.com) serves as proof of purchase, and the warranty takes effect automatically from the purchase date. When you need after-sales service, simply provide your order information to verify warranty status.
Q3: How can I check if my unit is still under warranty?
We confirm warranty status based on the purchase date. If you cannot locate your purchase record, you can provide the serial number from the rating label on the back of the unit. The first 4 digits of the serial number indicate the production year, which helps estimate the approximate batch.
Q4: What services are covered under warranty?
For malfunctions caused by manufacturing defects within the warranty period, we provide free replacement parts.
Q5: How long does it take to receive my order?
- Complete units: Ships within 48 hours of ordering, delivered in 3-12 business days (contiguous US 48 states)
- Replacement parts: Shipped from overseas factory, estimated delivery in 15-25 business days
Q6: Why hasn't my parts order arrived yet?
Replacement parts are shipped from our overseas factory via international freight, which typically takes longer than domestic delivery. During the year-end peak season, international logistics may experience additional delays. Once your package arrives at the local warehouse and is handed over to the final-mile carrier, you will receive a tracking number and estimated delivery date.
Q7: The order shows as delivered but I haven't received it. What should I do?
Please first check:
- Whether the package was left at a secure location such as a porch, garage, or side door
- Whether it was picked up by a family member, neighbor, or front desk/reception
- Check your mailbox for a delivery notice
Q8: What areas do you ship to?
Currently, we only ship to the contiguous 48 US states. Remote areas (Alaska, Hawaii) and international addresses are not yet supported.
Q9: How can I purchase replacement parts?
You can order replacement parts directly on kalamera.com. When placing your order, please be sure to include your full model number (e.g., KRC-150CB) in the order notes so we can ship you the correct parts.
Q10: Where do parts ship from and how long does delivery take?
Replacement parts are shipped from our overseas factory, with an estimated delivery time of 15-25 business days. During the year-end peak season, factory scheduling is busier, which may extend shipping time.
Q11: Are parts still available for KRC-150CB / KRC-180CB models?
- Models produced in 2022 and later: Replacement parts are available for normal purchase
- Models produced before 2022: Control boards and temperature control boards are discontinued and no longer available
- How to check: The first 4 digits of the serial number indicate the production year
Our technical team upgraded the refrigeration system for these wine cooler models in 2022. Parts for pre-2022 models will no longer be produced once sold out.
Q12: What's different about post-2026 models?
For models produced after 2026, the power board and main control board are basically integrated into a single unit design.
Q13: How do I confirm door gasket compatibility?
Please provide the full model number from the rating label on the back of your unit (e.g., KRC-52SZF), and we will confirm compatibility before arranging shipment. Door gaskets have different mounting clips for different models and are not interchangeable.
Q14: Can wooden shelves be swapped with wire mesh shelves?
No. Different shelves have different mounting clips. Wooden shelves and wire mesh shelves are not interchangeable.
Q15: What is the normal lifespan of a wine cooler?
The lifespan of a wine cooler is affected by various factors, including ambient temperature, ventilation conditions, door opening frequency, and operating load. Under normal use and good ventilation conditions, a wine cooler can operate reliably for many years.
The compressor, as the core operating component of the wine cooler, is a key factor determining the overall lifespan. Compressor failures occurring after the warranty period are considered normal wear and tear. We recommend contacting a local repair technician to assess repair costs, and considering a replacement unit if repair is not cost-effective.
Q16: What should I do if the compressor fails? Can I buy a compressor replacement part separately?
The compressor is a high-pressure refrigeration component that cannot be shipped via international mail, so we do not sell compressor parts separately.
If your wine cooler's compressor fails, we recommend contacting a local appliance repair technician who specializes in refrigeration for inspection and repair. For compressor failures within the warranty period, please provide your order information and a photo of the rating label, and we will verify your warranty status and arrange appropriate handling.
Q17: How can I tell if there's a refrigerant leak vs. needing a recharge?
Wine coolers use a fully sealed refrigeration system. Under normal use, the refrigerant is completely sealed within the pipes and does not require periodic recharging.
If you experience the following, it usually indicates a refrigerant leak rather than simply "needing a recharge":
- The compressor runs normally (with vibration and heat), but the wine cooler is not cooling at all or cooling performance is deteriorating
- The condenser coil is not warm (under normal operation, the coil should be slightly warm)
- The internal temperature consistently fails to reach the set temperature
A refrigerant leak is a sealed system failure that requires a professional repair technician to locate and fix the leak before recharging the refrigerant. We recommend contacting a local professional refrigeration repair technician.
Q18: Can I buy replacement keys separately?
Keys are not sold separately on the Kalamera official website. Service providers on other channels (such as Amazon, Wayfair, etc.) may have different after-sales policies, which shall prevail for their respective channels.
Q19: What should I do if my wine cooler is not cooling?
No cooling can have various causes:
- Compressor not running, not warm: Possible control board fault or compressor starter issue
- Compressor running but not cooling: Possible refrigerant leak or clogged pipeline
- Single zone not cooling (dual-zone models) : Usually related to temperature sensor, control board, or refrigerant issues
We recommend contacting a local appliance repair technician who specializes in refrigeration for diagnosis. If you need to purchase replacement parts, please provide the part name recommended by the technician, and we will confirm availability and provide a quote.
Q20: What does the "88" error code mean?
The "88" error code typically indicates a main control board fault. Please provide your order information and a photo of the rating label on the back of the unit, and we will confirm your warranty status and provide a solution.
Q21: What does B2/B4 error code + beeping + LED off mean?
This is a typical sign of a main control board fault. The control board needs to be replaced.
Q22: Is it normal for there to be excessive ice/frost buildup inside?
A small amount of frost is normal, but excessive ice buildup is usually related to the following causes:
- Temperature sensor malfunction
- Door gasket not fully sealed (moist air infiltration causing excessive evaporator frost)
- High ambient humidity
You can first perform a paper test to check the door gasket seal: insert a thin piece of paper at various points around the door edge — there should be uniform resistance when pulling it out. If there is no resistance at any point, the seal is poor at that location.
Q23: Are noises and unusual sounds normal?
The following sounds are normal during operation:
- Compressor running sound
- Clicking sounds from the solenoid valve switching
- Gurgling/flowing sounds from the refrigerant
f there is unusually loud noise or persistent unusual sounds, please check:
- Whether the unit is level
- Whether there is sufficient ventilation space around it
- Whether the fan blades are obstructed by debris
- Whether the unit is in contact with walls or other objects causing resonance
Q24: Is condensation on the door glass normal?
Slight condensation on the door glass surface is normal when ambient humidity is high. If condensation is severe and accompanied by internal frost buildup, it may be caused by a poor door gasket seal.
Q25: What should I do if the unit is leaking water?
Water leakage is usually related to the following causes:
- Clogged drain hole
- Poor door gasket seal (internal frost melts and overflows)
- Water pan issues
We recommend first checking whether the drain hole is clear and whether the door gasket seal is in good condition.
Q26: The door pops open after closing / won't close properly. What should I do?
Possible causes:
- Unit is not level
- Door gasket is dirty or deformed
- Door hinge is loose
You can first adjust the leveling of the unit, clean the magnetic strip of the door gasket, and check that the hinges are tight.
Q27: What are the black rubber pieces on the door? Can I remove them?
Those are shipping protectors used to protect the door and hinges during transit. They can be discarded after installation and do not affect normal use.
Q28: There are small holes/dimples on the back of the wine cooler. Is this a quality issue?
No. These are foam injection holes, which are a normal manufacturing feature and do not affect function or performance.
Q29: Can I return my order?
If you need to return your order, please contact us first to explain the reason. Returns require the customer to cover round-trip shipping costs, and there may be a risk of secondary damage during transit. The refund amount will be the product price minus shipping costs.
Q30: How long does it take to receive a refund?
After the refund is processed, it typically takes 3-5 business days to be returned to your original payment method.
Q31: The unit has cosmetic damage but works normally. Can I apply for compensation?
For units that function normally but have cosmetic damage, we typically offer up to 10% off as compensation. In special cases, this can be approved up to 50%.
Q32: How can I contact Kalamera customer support?

Q34: How much clearance is needed for built-in installation?
Ventilation clearance requirements for built-in installation:
- Top: ≥ 1 inch
- Sides: ≥ 1 inch
- Back: ≥ 2 inches
Q35: I purchased Seel protection. How do I file a claim?
